Hi, I’m Jessica Maldonado

I’m a book, publication, and production designer with a deep love of typography, thoughtful layout, and the small details that make complex content feel clear and engaging. I’ve designed, art directed, and produced more than 100 commercially released books, along with magazines, digital publications, and the marketing materials that help connect that content with its audience.

I’m happiest working where creative judgment and careful execution meet—developing covers and interiors, building adaptable layout systems, organizing information, preparing and retouching imagery, and carrying projects through editorial review and final production. InDesign and Photoshop are my longtime tools of choice, but the real strength I bring is knowing how to maintain clarity, consistency, and visual personality across a book, publication, campaign, or coordinated family of assets.

I tell people I’m a ”girl from Queens,” and you'll probably pick up on the New York accent. If we’re on a video call, you may spot one of my two little dogs tryin’ to squish in behind me. They're super fun coworkers, but I do work well with human-based teams. ;-)
